It's almost time for our magazine issues to leave their hiatus! An open call for issues 19 and 20(!) will open on December 21st, 2025. Any speculative short story that centers characters or themes could be a fit. Are you ready to share your story?

The monsters in Where the Wild Things Are were inspired by Maurice Sendak’s aunts/uncles. Relatives who’d coo, “You’re so good, we could eat you up.” As a sickly child often confined to bed, he must’ve felt both loved & terrified during their visits⬇️
