I don’t really need to complain bc she’s been fantastic but she’s turned into a lot of horse to ride.
She’s starting to have more power than some of the warm bloods I used to ride 😬

Me: makes sure Lily (at 18) is fit enough to comfortably go around at training level
Also me: has to actually *ride* my very fit horse

Listening to three shattered souls and I swear if this doesn’t end kind of well I’m going to be so mad

Pupdate: the sheriffs dept did not come pick her up, she slept quietly in the crate overnight, and I’ll take her to the shelter when it opens in a few hours 🥹

It’s a good thing I didn’t go look at the cute pups at the shelter (they had free adoptions last week) bc one is the cutest block headed pup I’ve ever seen and just got picked up by her new family 🥹

A lot of my friends are 6/7 years older than me and it’s so funny when they’re like yeah, graduated high school in 2008 and I’m like… I was in 6th grade at the time 😂

Yup! The last horse I was that I was semi interested in was a tb ranch horse listed for 7500 that was so soft over her back and had excellent movement. She sold in a day, but I could tell she would be a super event horse too.

We’ve gotten all (except Lily) from people we know/through training and the max I ever spent on a horse was 3500.
I’m just not sure I’ll ever want a project again though. 😬

We got Lily for $500 from a pasture 😂

I just spent 20 mins with this farmer telling me how rough these past few years have been and how he’s not far away from selling everything and working at the super market. I’m so, so sad about the state of the world.

She’s starting to feel like a real dressage horse now, too. It’s so fun!

Very minor diet change, shes been in full work the whole time.
I think it’s mostly due to getting her to truly relax mentally and relax/stretch through her body while working. Its allowed her to use her back and hind end more effectively, and “pull” less with her front end during work.

I am simply in awe of how much muscle Lily has packed on in the last year. I’ll post pics below, but the difference in her back, neck and booty is huge.
