Our governments should be run by working class people who can use its resources to help the most vulnerable.

By asking for donations and using our member dues, we were able to get enough supplies for dozens of people today. Not only is there no reason for the city of Davenport to do the same, but we did it on a shoestring budget.

There’s enough vacant homes in this country to house everyone several times over, but landlords buy up swathes of homes and let them stay vacant to create scarcity, allowing rents to soar.

QCDSA’s Mutual Aid Working Group was in Davenport today giving out winter clothing and hygiene supplies to our unhoused comrades. As socialists, we believe that everyone should have their essential needs met, but capitalism creates the conditions for homelessness to exist. 🧵
