We recently added to our bylaws a resolution condemning both zionism and anti-semitism. We made both grounds for removal; as well as anti-Arab racism or Islamophobia. While we adopted these before the 2025 Convention, DSA becoming an anti-zionist org convinced us to strengthen our position. 1/3

Our Queer Mutual Aid Working Group will be meeting on December 13th at 7pm to begin work on a new project to preserve the stories of queer people in our community and a winter wear drive for a LGBTQ friendly org in our community.

Data centers from California, to Utah, to Memphis have depleted the water of marginalized communities, skyrocketed power bills, and poisoned the air. Even in the best case scenario, these centers support a technology that threatens tens of millions of working people with unemployment.

This December 3rd, there’ll be a town hall in the Bank of Springfield Center at 5:30 to discuss the data center Cyrus One is threatening our community with. They've made all sorts of claims about how their data center won’t impact our water supply or our power bills, but we know they’re lying.

We just had a 6 day major heat wave. We’re about to enter another with heat indexes exceeding 115 degrees.

Last night, Illinois’ Fayette County experienced severe flash flooding, particularly around Vandalia Lake. A least two cars needed to be removed from the floodwaters.

The night before, there was severe flooding in Flora IL.
