Reconnected w old friends, a decade later we're at similar mission from different paths. Brussels has been quietly building open spaces, public goods and collective ownership, close to the political center to push towards a decentralized future.
Could it be next Ethereum hub?

Ethereum folks were present, but it often felt like we had to stay in disguise 😅 or use a different vocabulary. I hope adding @ethprague.bsky.social stickers to the convo helped!
More needs to be done to build bridges between these communities there’s a missed opportunity on both sides.

My first FOSDEM was eye-opening. Blockchain is clearly not welcome here with zero mentions and visible skepticism. Yet sovereignty was the buzzword everywhere, and we aspire to similar values: user control, fewer intermediaries, and more open infrastructure.

FOSDEM was eye-opening. Clear that blockchain wasn’t exactly welcome, but it showed how much work we still have to do connecting these communities. We’re driven by the same values, just need more bridges.
