I’m not mad, I just read different books. Multiple model agnostic, artist, illustrator, writer, destroyer of worlds.

When the strong independent and challenging female character with initiative literally winds up in a box, barely doing anything and then has her history erased to make her a mom and have that changed to be her motivation all along … #doctorwho

Felt a little cynical to me. A far cry from the sentiment of ‘Doctor I let you go’. Back to the 2000s again? I understand 14 was to get some casual fans back on board but I can’t help feel this casting was for the benefit of headlines and clickbait. Happy to be proven wrong.

I loved your segment in the book. How intentional was your approach to the timelords mirroring the inner politics of the bbc? Or was the idea of doctor who piloting you?

Anyway here is the Blakein gothic cyberman I came up with. The brain embossing on the side is the left brain mirrored.

Anyway I’m off to your book to learn strange facts about John Pertwee.

I read somewhere that kit peddler intended them to be priests or monks but wasn’t able to due to blasphemy laws. It’s very fitting then that the man who fought the blasphemy laws in 2006 was the same man who raised money for William Blakes grave also played a cyberman in an audio drama set in Egypt

The Cybermen also share a lot of visual links to Egyptian symbolism, the tombs, the death masks and the first cyber controller having a particularly phallic design, not unlike an obelisk, the symbol of the left brain. Associated with mathematics and reason and a strong belief in the patriarchy.

From hell and William Blake vs the world back to back. A potent combo.I was struck by the thematic links between Urizen and the Cybermen. Forcing mankind to close of their awareness and see the world through a narrow chink. ‘Binding with briers my joys and desires’.

@johnhiggs.bsky.social hey, absolutely loving your new book.

Your segment on the Cybermen in particular struck a cord with me when you mentioned Blake. For my final year of uni, where I was studying prop making, I was commissioned to make a cyberman. At the time I had just read-

Do you have ideas, or do ideas have you? What is the difference between inspiration and possession?

Ah to ‘cleanse the doors of perception’. Wouldn’t that be great? Speaking of, when will rtd do the decent thing and give us a William Blake episode? Urizen and the Cybermen have numerous parallels to explore beyond the 60s technophobia. Especially with them originally intended to be a priest class

I’m more excited about this than series 2. And that’s saying something. I’m curious to see what affect this will have on the fandom on a whole. It would certainly be a lot les aggy if we had a few more multiple model agnostics around.

Am smug to have an article in the Guardian before a review - it’s all about autistic-coding in media! They cut out some of the beefier stuff but that’s life! Bazinga! www.theguardian.com/film/2025/ma...

Very excited, i loved @pierrenovellie.bsky.social ‘s book on autism and expect this to be just as good. Then I’ve just got to wait for as as yet unknown dyslexic comedian to cover the rest and il be sorted.

The paperback of my comedian’s guide to autism is out today! I get about a message a day saying the book helped them understand their husband/wife/child/parent or even that they have recommended the book to their client/teaching establishment!

I’d appreciate any shares! ❤️

Immortal in imagination

For that which holds the image of the magus, becomes itself the magus.

Warships of children’s books.

Doctor Dee, architect of the Empire, augured that ontology can’t be divorced from semiotics. He died, the idea of him lived entered Shakespeare and through alchemy became a symbol. White beard funny hat. Wizard. And now has, by vessels of culture, colonised us all, the empire of Dee.

Tried some Austin Spare rituals to try and get an idea for my exhibition. Went to sleep, had an incredibly vivid dream where doctor dee told me what to write, declaring that ‘he has made warships of children’s books’, and I woke up with the entire thing complete in my mind. I guess magick works then

I look forward to reading about how the candyman is actually a reoccurring phenomenon throughout time and has contacted our world through the likes of Edward Kelly, Crowley and eventually the bbc in the 80s, in attempt to germinate the idea of himself in the public consciousness and so become a god
