I sympathize but it's not that simple. "Somewhat maintained and up to code" can be at different levels in different states. In MA, the HA withheld their 80% of an entire month's rent from my buddy due to a light bulb in a basement not getting fixed in time. This was his starter home he rented out.

This is not entirely true and I know because I've rented to three different section 8 tenants in the past 15 years who have been great. The program usually pays a portion depending on income. You will almost always get paid on time. But there are BIG problems in one-size-fits-all states like MA.

Trump has *always* been about ratings since The Apprentice (and before). Everything he does plays to his malignant, narcissistic ego. Those who make him look bad or can't play the media are fired before anyone who does a "bad job". But eventually he throws everyone under the bus.

My dad is an 85 year old self made American success story from Italy who worked hard but also got lucky in this country. I am deeply saddened that he became a Trumpista back in 2016 and is mostly in it for entertainment in his old age. Nothing my brother and I try will make him think differently.
