Changes coming, yes. Not certain what they are, but I’m generally optimistic. I see the MAGA movement as a desperate reaction to those inevitable changes. Only disagreement we have here is I’m inclined to lump Xers with the Boomers these days, as age effects overwhelm somewhat vague cohort effects.

And I hope that zeal survives age effects long enough in red states to make the difference.

You are right. And that is due to the same dynamic that will make a constitutional amendment so difficult to pass. I think it will come down to which amendment is more likely to succeed: eliminate the EC or reform the EC. I’d bet on the latter, not because I prefer it.
