08.04.2025 15:57 โ ๐ 2714 ๐ 700 ๐ฌ 23 ๐ 26I find Colossal's work really interesting. At the same time, I feel that their public outreach is led by PR stunts, which puts the accuracy of the science communication in the background, and that really bothers me.

There are probably some good historical and media articles and books written on these topics out there that I'd be interested to check. If the science community has any recommendations, do share.

And I feel like there's a certain level at which the spectacle and reality TV are playing a role right now. Case in point: yesterday's performance.
Oh I had no idea! Great name to have if one's writing non-fiction books ๐

07.02.2025 04:19 โ ๐ 7968 ๐ 752 ๐ฌ 79 ๐ 146I've seen a few posts about the sizes that work well for the new Instagram grid, and while I do think they are useful in their own right, I strongly urge you to make art in whatever format and size you want. Social media shouldn't dictate how you create.
29.01.2025 14:41 โ ๐ 284 ๐ 28 ๐ฌ 12 ๐ 0Also, regarding the 'contact someone' part - is it time to make address books a thing again?
29.01.2025 05:55 โ ๐ 4 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Uninstalled Instagram for the time being from my phone. The 'Ad break' functionality is realky grinding my gears (plus, you know, the whole Meta political pirouette doesn't make it feel nicer).
If I need to use it for work or to contact someone, web interface feels less intrusive.
My grandparents had all the episodes of Walking with Dinosaurs (dubbed in Bulgarian) recorded on a VHS tape for me, and I played that thing constantly on repeat as a kid whenever I visited them.
Needless to say โ I'm so incredibly excited to see this new release!!

A close up on the side of the face of an Albertosaurus.
So glad for people to get to see some of the animals I've spent the past couple of years looking after! I had the wonderful opportunity to design the looks of many of the species, and have worked on each animal in detail across the VFX process.
Walking with Dinosaurs premieres later in 2025!
Once in a while I just search and look through these images, they're stunning.
Truly the Old Masters I wish I could one day draw like
I know this sentiment is well shared, but every once in a while I think about how beautifully powerful and inspiring these paintings are.
