16.01.2026 14:28 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Is it on test or just a stock move from Allerton? Would love 769s/319s running how they used to though...
16.03.2025 12:29 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Absolutely. Too much focus is on 'the good old days' and not on making the railways the same or better now. We do have an absolute wealth of railway heritage, but it seems like it's just being exploited for Rail 200 instead of doing anything meaningful improvement-wise.
06.03.2025 12:14 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Can we take a moment to celebrate this train. 9167 will cross 4 countries this evening and dive beneath the sea on its way from Amsterdam to London. We took over from our Dutch colleagues in Brussels. It's quite simply Europe on rails, and it makes me very proud indeed. ๐

You have also taken a great picture yourself ๐
A black and white picture of the Grand Gallery of the National Museum of Scotland. with a perspective looking through two fence posts. The photo is taken from one of the upper flows and taken on top of a piece of furniture or a cupboard which offers a slight reflection of the roof of the Gallery. You can see people walking amongst the museum.
The slight reflection and framing really added to this picture, it also looks a lot cleaner in B&W in my opinion. Taken at the National Museum of Scotland, Edinburgh. One for #WeekIforInside #AlphabetChallenge

The split headcodes are very rare these days.
That's fair enough, I can assure you that as soon as I find the vouchers for the offer they go straight where they belong, that being the bin ๐คฃ
The type of people that buy newspapers nowadays are the ones that they are appealing to with their headlines.
It's a shame because they're part of the Northern ยฃ10 offer. As much as I like the Northern ยฃ10 offer I just cant stomach buying two newspapers from that company for it anymore. I don't want to go near the papers that has slandered people (especially LGBTQ+) for sensational clickbait.

21.02.2025 10:56 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Love Olympus Systems. Still on a very old 2012 model but its an absolute joy to use while being small and the IBIS is great and was way ahead for its time period. It just has the confidence and feels like a proper camera. I want to get the Mk2 eventually for the High MP landscape modes though.
17.02.2025 12:27 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0A photo of the coastline of Cumbria. in the foreground a somewhat pebbled or rocky beach can be seen with a small bit of sand and the sea in the background. Along the coastline there is some small houses which look small in comparison to the coastline hills next to them. In the far background of the picture you can see a piece of land that stretches further out into the sea, called St Bees Head. The coastline hills on the right side of the picture also contain the Cumbrian Coast Railway.
If you look close enough you can see the Cumbrian Coast Railway against the coastline. Looking towards St Bees Head from Nethertown.

A picture of the modern Elizabeth Line station underground at Farringdon. It is quiet on the Platforms with an empty bench in the foreground to the right of the picture with a slight reflection of of the clean polished walls. You can see the platform edge doors and lights going all of the way down the platform.
A quiet station at Essex Road, still showing its Network South East signage with a plastic bag bin in the foreground with a slight reflection of the platform and the station on the polished tiles. This station has a much more older and 'run down' aesthetic compared to the likes of Farringdon.
The contrast between the old and modern. Farringdon and Essex Road. Both featuring their own moments of quiet amongst the big city.

An old railway bridge spanning a area much larger than the now footpath beneath it, with the space around the footpath now very much reclaimed by nature.
A flowing water stream making its way down towards the reservoir through a stone wall with trees and foliage to either side.
Water going down the Valehouse Reservoir spillway, with the hills in the background and some foliage in the foreground.
Very nice place to be, although I wish it was still fulfilling its original purpose as the Woodhead Line.

Quite a stark contrast of Ullswater Lake in the Lake District being covered in snow just a few days after very high water levels.

05.12.2024 14:19 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0A long-exposure photograph on the seaside of North Wales. In the very far distance away a windfarm can be seen into the ocean. The subject of the photo is three rocks with the water captured going around them in an almost mist-like way due to the long exposure photo. In the foreground you can see the beach sand and rocks.
Something I need to do more of, I love how the water interacts with other elements in a long exposure.

01.12.2024 14:49 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0A black and white picture of the front of a old building built with stone bricks. There is a staircase leading up to the main door of the building and there is big, old windows on the building. On the left side of the picture there is a tree with its long right most branch overhanging in front of the building. In the foreground there is some flowers aswell as some bollards.
A picture taken from a higher viewpoint showing the town hall and the cathedral, with lots of fog. In the foreground there is the front of houses and their chimney / roof. Amongst the cathedral in the background is rows of houses and buildings within the city.
Black and white, moody old city architecture ๐ท

A ferry docking up to a jetty, with smoke coming out of its exhaust. In the background there is the river, the other side of the river and an intense orange sunset. The sky at the top of the picture turns to a dark blue colour.

Preach that message, Photography is always about the story and everything else is just a tool for that. It's how best you know your tools really.
