I hate GenAI as much as anyone else, but I still don’t understand the hate for Embark on this. They aren’t using GenAI, they hire voice actors to record lines that they give to a TTS model to make it sound less robotic. Just like Siri and Alexa, which have been around far longer than AI.

Well I’m not sure if this is the case with Arc Raiders, but in The Finals they paid voice actors to record then use those recordings to plug into a TTS model so it sounds much less robotic. It may have AI aspects but they aren’t using straight up Gen. AI as far as I know.
