Creature Concept Sketch: Southern Quilled Seraph (fictional avianoid) Digital sketch of a bird-like monster standing with its wings folded. Its mouth is closed, and its head is facing straight right. Its body is mostly turned away from the viewer, with its tail slack and dragging on the ground. Its beak and two-toed feet are yellow in color, and its eyes are bright green. Most of the feathers on its body are a warm grey shade, with a broad red stripe down its back and tail. Additionally, there is a large patch of red in the center of itis chest. Its wing feathers, as well as some scattered feathers across its body, are a shiny iridescent black. It has a bright red wattle on the underside of its head, which is patterned with black markings. Porcupine-like quills sprout from beneath the feathers on the monster's back, as well as the backs of its wings. Along its relaxed tail there are 3 more (shorter) wing-like appendages. The head has two pairs of eyes; one is large, and located on the side of the head, and the other is small, and faces forwards from a hole on the from side of the beak. The top beak has a large Smilodon-like fang growths on each side. On the bottom half of the beak, a patterned crest sprouts and curves backwards between the fangs. A digital drawing of an original character who's a mix of a humanoid race and a dragon. She has green scales covering part of her face, legs, hands. Has a huge tail and pointy elf-like ears, as well as small brown horns, one of them is broken off. She wears a hood and parts of incomplete leather armour. Under them you can see a light-colored, casual clothing. Her whole outfit is rather worn off with some holes and stitches.

Finally finished this piece! Man, I had so much fun, I truly experimented a lot on this one. And most importantly, I think I'm finally satisfied with Niwa's design :) I also added simple background on the whim, inspired by Akihiko Yoshida's work.

He has a lot of gold accessories such as belt clasps, a singular knee guard, necklace and a headpiece. He wields a halberd/spear with red and purple accents.

Fun new design. Well, actually a redesign of my old OC. He's a former thief who loves pretty things and travels looking for interesting materials to make a jewellery out of. Rune-Keeper is his actual name but Rue is something that his sister calls him (also a nod to his old name)

inking traditionally, speedball superblack , GPen nib in a tachikawa nib holder. I have less control over a dip pen, but get a lot more happy accidents. Kind of have to go with the flow of it. this is on 11x17 canson comic paper.
