I had an issue recently with someone on here, and I've been reflecting on whether or not I did the right thing.

If you're pretending to have a genuine conversation with someone, but really you're just waiting for a sales opportunity, people can tell. Even this autistic person can tell.

The third draft of It's the End, Pennie Wilson has been sent to a few beta readers. I won't write another unless it's directed by a professional. The biggest change is a new flashback chapter where Pennie struggles to socialize appropriately with people who do not have her best interests at heart.

Recently spent a little time away. Rode a coaster bike to coffee shops to write. Read on the beach and listened to the surf. Explored an abandoned village. Watched my dad fish.

In an effort to push this account somewhat closer to being on-topic, occasionally, I want to celebrate that I gave myself permission to pay for the writer's conference package that comes with networking events and a pitch. If I can be a safety marshal at protests, I can do this. #pitch

I'm allowed to acknowledge that it blows and that I struggle with the idea of wearing one all the time again. Most of us in the US, at least, did not grow up wearing them.

I currently have no problem masking while sick, & masking if someone would like me to mask, but I will admit I struggle w/ the idea of wearing them all the time again. I was a very good mask wearer for a long time, so I know I am capable. My in-person work colleague & I have been discussing this.

Just a reminder that Puerto Ricans are Americans. Also... If you have a problem with hearing languages you don't speak, YOU are the problem.

I was writing a letter to the editor of my local paper regarding homelessness, and was debating if a .gov site would still be a reliable source for my research, but... No, it's a council that doesn't exist anymore and the website, while still indexed, is down. I used the Way Back Machine. RIP USICH.

Even if you went to the hospital, especially even if your doctors told you to go to the hospital, the ER would probably come at you with "we don't treat chronic illness." You'd just be spending money and hauling yourself out of the house to subject yourself to some ER doctor's disdain. No thank you.

"Glad" to see you posting about this. I'm spitting angry at how people don't seem all that worked up about it. They are too busy with their performative grief and outrage regarding other matters.

A thing not often mentioned here is one of the things OpenAI is trying to take away is community. Having experts beyond yourself — and professionals and friends and family and and and — means interacting with them, enforcing community. This attempts (poorly, thankfully) to diminish and destroy that.

Now they are having an aggressive hyperventilation competition. Hopefully the winner doesn't pass out.

I recently explained to someone that if they choose to self publish they should go into it willingly and fully informed. Maybe one day that's what I'll be doing, but I'm not going to do it with a company that pretends it's doing me a favor. If I pay someone, they are a VENDOR.

Soda is somehow not a vice of mine, but if I'm gonna drink Coke I want Mexican Coke.

Why? Because it tastes better. People who think it's a healthy or healthier alternative make my brain hurt.

These are probably the same people who tell me not to eat fruit because it's got sugar in it.
