I'm sure he was a nice enough bloke, but this endless coverage of the Pope's passing is ridiculous. For one, there is no such thing as God. For another the Catholic church has caused IMMEASURABLE damage to countless youngsters over the years. I'd have stayed a LOT quieter if I were a member.

Why is Colonel Chris Hadfield (the famous Canadian astronaut) refusing to say anything against Donald Trump? Is it not the DUTY of every celebrity and public figure to speak up?

QUESTION: Should celebrities and public figures voice their opposition to Trump, or are they allowed to stay silent whilst we carry their can? (They all know who they are)

This man is going to kill every last living thing on the planet. What will it take before people see him for the truly existential threat he is?

Delighted to see Bluesky up its max character limit. But it's still NOWHERE NEAR enough. We need Bluesky to take Facebook on with a much higher limit in place. Our democracies depend on Facebook dying a long-overdue death. I want to leave Facebook without losing my voice online.

I am SO proud of Americans taking to the streets to defend their democracy. This needs to become a series of national strikes until the Trump economy is stopped. We'll do our bit abroad too, inc. calling for a boycott of all tourism to the USA. Difficult, but WAY better than a second US civil war.

Couldn't agree more. I am utterly ashamed at Starmer fawning to Trump like this two days ago. But after yesterday, even he must see that Trump's invite must be rescinded. He is NOT welcome in our country, ever.

Good call. But it's not enough. The Democrats and US trade unions need to call a rolling series of national strikes unless and until Trump is ousted. It's literally existential for the USA now. Short of a civil war, I can't think of any better way to cripple his regime.
