Angry parent slams plan to scrap sixth form Sam Oliver, founder of BodyPak, has spoken out about East Anglian Schools Trust's decision to apply for the closure of Bungay High Sixth Form.

I understand why the East Anglian Schools Trust has concluded that a sixth form is sadly no longer viable at Bungay High. I & my team are here to assist any parent, guardian or student who has any concerns.

In light of this latest news, I have spoken to the East Anglian Schools Trust leadership about the support they will be providing to the current year 11 pupils to help them make the best possible plans for their next academic year.

I am deeply disappointed by the announcement that Bungay High will no longer offer a sixth form. Since the sudden decision at the start of the school year to not continue with a planned new intake of sixth form students, I have been engaging with the school regularly.

MP welcomes refusal of 'mega-chicken facility' plans An MP has welcomed the decision to refuse controversial plans for a major chicken farm in a village near Beccles.

East Suffolk Council made the right decision in refusing permission for the mega-chicken factory in Shadingfield.

This decision protects animal welfare by stopping hundreds of thousands of birds from being crammed into cruel conditions & it safeguards the local environment.

After an eventful week, it was great to be out doing what matters most, meeting constituents at my surgery in Bunwell and catching up with residents in Carleton Rode who shared their concerns about flooding risks and support for special educational needs.

New Bungay sixth form students told Year 12 is cancelled Parents are sent a letter just as the new school year starts telling them A levels are being dropped.

This is an awful situation for students at Bungay High. I have written to the headteacher to ask how this has happened and what support is in place for the students and teachers affected. The focus has to now be on helping the students find suitable alternatives as speedily as possible.

My Dad is currently receiving end of life care in Norfolk, so I am unable to be in Westminster at present. My constituency team continues to work on casework as normal, and I am working on constituency matters from Norfolk and Suffolk, ahead of a short period of compassionate leave.
