But I'd already spent all my money paying for them the first time, so I couldn't afford them a second time, and I left with only 2 out of 3 books. Idk how the adults didn't catch that I made a social faux pas or that I was just a confused baby and really charged me twice 😭 (2)

I'll never forget when there was a book fair in my elementary school one year, and there were 2 registers side by side at the entrance, and I paid for my books, then (because I was awkward and dumb and 9 uears old) went to the next register to pay for them AGAIN. (1)
