It is funny to think about how even when fiction serves the sole purpose of pleasure and entertainment it still becomes representative of the culture and context it was created in. Like one of those distorted mirrors

A card I received from Thailand which really made my day today, mainly because the insane amount of stamps was just so awesome...

This is also legislation that exists specifically for disability access which is why it is also a bit crazy people don't really advocate for bathroom access. Not everyone can hold their pee and poo in easily.

It's ridiculous it's allowed for people to put locks on bathrooms or just not have one available in most of this country. Texas was winning in this aspect.

I've been thinking about why i have less motivation to go out since moving and i realized because i live in a state that lets businesses withhold bathroom access there's less bathrooms available in public and i am a peepee poopoo pants person.

The Name of the Rose (1986)
Honestly I hated this for several reasons but mostly because the portrayal of peasants was genuinely offensive to me. Just read the book or watch a different movie.

A Knights Tale (2001)
Really fun movie... The soundtrack makes it so much and the casting is stacked. It's actually a bit historically accurate too, noticeably moreso than most medieval movies

Interesting... I'll keep this in mind. I'll probably watch the wire eventually

I saw someone say this song is a euphemism for dating a white guy

Using breaking bad as a comparison here since it's the only other famous crime show I've watched

10.02.2026 19:48 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

I already find the show to be more fascinating than breaking bad and the main reason is that season 1 of sopranos makes you feel like you can relate to tony on a level while the first season of breaking bad i just couldnt comprehend walter white at all

10.02.2026 19:48 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

I feel like the premise is a bit ridiculous from the get go that makes the viewer know it won't be conventional (since it starts with Tony's therapy appointments) partially through season 2 I've noticed how meticulous the foreshadowing is as well

Its one of the only 3 good songs on the album but i remember last year they performed together at a concert or festival or smth

Martyr! By Kaveh Akbar
Really interesting book which the twist is easily surmised within the first few chapters .. by the end that feels intentional. There's scenes that are hard to describe as anything but Lynchian. I enjoyed my time with this and it was an emotional reas.

Season 1 of the Sopranos
Really loving this show so far and Tony is so interesting that he becomes a really likable character despite how terrible he is. Everything about the way its shot is thoughtful and the writing is fascinating. Tapped in

Gawain and the Green Knight (1973)
I actually quite enjoyed this if only for the way it looks and the practical effects ... The green knight is that guy who screams "i am the electric messiah" in the ruling class... I recognized him immediately of course

The return of Martin Guerre (1982)
Good movie about a real legal case but apparently leaves out a lot of important details (especially ones that would frame the context of this situation) so I'll be reading the book at some point this year

Perceval (1978)
Genuinely creatively beautiful movie that tries to replicate illuminated manuscripts in its set and costume design.... certainly a must watch if you enjoy technical elements or just arthurian stuff

I think it's true I've fallen into the camp of being interested in medieval history because life and struggle then being similar to now brings a sense of comfort when everything about the world feels hopeless
