Rep. Javadi now has the opportunity to make his case as a Democrat in the May 2026 primary. We look forward to hearing his current positions on those key issues in the very near future.

While we appreciate Rep. Javadi’s work on behalf of Clatsop County, it is no secret that we’ve also disagreed in several key areas. We look forward to meaningful conversations about how to best promote the values of respect, tolerance, equity and opportunity across Clatsop County and NW Oregon.

It is obvious that the MAGA right has poisoned the GOP to the point that moderates of good conscience, which we believe Javadi to be, no longer have a place in the GOP. We welcome all who value truth, science and a belief in working together to solve the challenges our communities face together.

The Clatsop County Democrats welcome Rep. Cyrus Javadi to the fold and we look forward to his contributions on how to best serve the people of the County. The Democratic Party has always been a “Big Tent”, welcoming and accepting of different perspectives and often divergent points of view. (1/3)

Gov. Tina Kotek announced Tuesday that she will call lawmakers back to Salem next month to secure additional funding for the Oregon Department of Transportation to maintain its services and avoid hundreds of layoffs.

I am grateful to the Governors of California, Florida, Minnesota, and New Jersey for sending firefighting crews to Oregon. This is the best of America—states stepping up to help their neighbors without hesitation. Your firefighters are heroes. Thank you for your partnership.

It’s absurd that Pres. Trump and his allies are advancing legislation to cut funding for public broadcasting, which serves as an essential lifeline for rural communities and provides quality educational content to children across the country. I’m here in DC to fight against this effort.

Trump’s border czar says he’s coming to Portland. Senator dangles special invite Oregon’s senior senator invites the Trump official to a town hall. Will he accept?

If Trump “border czar” Tom Homan wants to visit Portland, he can attend my open-to-all town hall next month in Multnomah County to hear local feedback on Trump policies that include masked and unidentified agents snatching people off the street.

Great news from Senator Jeff Merkley, who has always been a tireless advocate for Oregonians. We’re lucky to have him in this fight!

How many of our friends, neighbors, coworkers, will be affected by losing this critical assistance while we give tax breaks to the richest among us?

And tell me again, why 42% of Clatsop County voted for the Republicans who did this?

In 2023, nearly 7000 people in Clatsop County received SNAP assistance. Another 5600 were eligible but did not participate in the SNAP program. (#s from the Oregon Hunger Task Force, 2023.) Taken together that's roughly 31% of our County's population.

NEW: Trump's budget could force 22 million families to lose some or all of their food assistance.

Shame on every Republican who voted for it.
