I run. Hooves sink slightly into the damp moss of the forest floor, traveling a well-worn path. The aroma of a nearby blackberry briar wafts by, overwhelming my desires. I want to deviate from my mission and taste the fruit that has ripened since my last trek through this place. The bush must be brimming to give off such an overpowering smell. A whiff of what the blackberries are blocking invades my nose. My nostrils flare at the real reason I’m running. Wolf.
