I’m Jewish and the son of Jewish refugees who immigrated to America, so some might accuse me of seeing antisemitism where it doesn’t exist. So it’s sadly reassuring to see that the great historian Timothy Snyder saw the Oval Office debacle the way I did:

There is no government waste. I stand by that. Every dime spent is vital to somebody. Getting a gov grant is like pulling teeth. It’s never enough funding. Even our military has unmet needs. We don’t have a spending problem, we have a revenue problem. Not all of us are paying our fair share.
