Senior Leaders Are Leaving FEMA Along with about 1,000 rank-and-file workers, FEMA is losing some of the managers most experienced in handling emergency efforts.

“The massive reduction in staff at FEMA will have dangerous ripple effects for communities across the country,” said Shana Udvardy, senior climate resilience policy analyst at UCS. “At a time when FEMA staff is low capacity, this is going in the wrong direction.”
