I wonder what all Netflix buying WB means for physical media, HBO Max and their deals with GKids and Ghibli, and Cartoon Network and the future of Toonami.

Better Netflix than Paramount but best would be a functional antitrust regulating agency and lots of different companies that make cartoons and movies and shows and don’t hire sex pests.

Netflix might well end up owning a theatrical distribution business when their CEO has publicly said multiple times theatrical is over. So does this mean Netflix is going to evolve on that point? Who knows. Regardless, this doesn’t feel great for the business as a whole, which is suffering already.

Girl House MD/Anime Bones is a decent watch. Pacing would've been way better with just hour long episodes, but it's a great anime to bring to your parents/grandparents who love medical &/or crime procedural dramas.

I mean, it'll still suck - many companies may cut ties with Netflix, as they'll have their own Hollywood studio now & it'll probably result in further collapsing of the animation studios that'd built up in LA since the late 1980s silver age kicked off, but it beats Paramount/Skydance. /1
