Never a good sign when that sort of thing starts creeping into the TT positions…

Put differently, there just aren’t enough full time (let alone TT) jobs for how many people are well qualified to have them.

From what I can tell, people who landed TT jobs were mostly lucky.

They obviously worked very hard to get there, but I know people who were perfect (had several publications, good teaching experience, did service)…and got crickets in response to their applications.

I can do it in one screaming goat.
