A big part of the process lies in people like βLordβ Hannan actually being *rewarded* for their ignorant delinquency.

18.05.2025 20:53 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Thanks, I'll hopefully get across there later this year to see them. They're never stuck for work, there is almost full employment there. It's accommodation for folk that want to live & work there that is the big issue.
14.04.2025 10:36 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Agreed, I'll need to look up which local authorities have implemented it. They actually got the house at a reduced price as the owner was in a hurry to sell. They were surprised at this having been outbid on previous attempts to buy.
14.04.2025 08:59 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0at a reduced price due to the owner being in a hurry to sell. The imposition of the new tax certainly seems to have detered prospective second home owners. Their new home is on the west side of Lewis so is perhaps not a hot spot for second homes. They get on fine with the locals.

She had to rent because she couldn't afford to buy due to cash rich Southerners buying up houses that came to market. The Scottish Government bought in a 200% increase on Council Tax on 2nd homes. Here is my latest on the threats facing travellers going into the United States.
This is no longer a nation under the rule of law. The United States has been taken over by political ideology abusing power to carry out political vendettas.
This is fascism.

People are losing their jobs. Prices keep climbing. Measles continues to spread. Bird flu is raging. Veterans are getting fired. The stock market is a roller coaster. Our alliances are being shattered. Ukrainian civilians are getting bombed by Russia.
Donald Trump is golfing.
Congratulations to the senior Tories who, having been told this for a mere 60 years, and staunchly denied it throughout, have finally twigged that it might not be a brilliant idea to have a nuclear deterrent which can be switched off by another state.
