If you're desperate to only ever experience comforting media then you don't want art, you want a literary gated community.

Prowl wants to promote Sunstreaker but refuses a promotion if Sideswipe isn't getting one. So he remains a frontliner and Prowl is dying inside with the waste of potential.

And Prowl starts analyzing the battles and realizes every single time Sunstreaker is defying an order, casualties are less than projected.

The only way to get Sunstreaker to stop defying orders with his own solutions is to put him under Prowl's direct command.

One of my headcanons for this is Sunstreaker keeps undermining his commanders mid-battle and Prowl is going insane with the field reports he keeps getting that the frontline commanders are always happy to keep Sideswipe but Sunstreaker keeps defying orders - the opposite of Prowl's experience.

I always end up writing Sideswipe/Prowl yet I shipped Sunstreaker with Prowl first. No one has yet gotten to see Sunstreaker having a crush on Prowl from me and Sideswipe losing his damn mind about it because it's *PROWL*

First I need my brain to not be goo. Drawing Prowl behind the desk made it feel like elastic, and then Sunstreaker's highlights pulverized what was left of it.
