I am begging you to find a book or movie you've never heard of that looks interesting and take a risk. You don't have to only enjoy things other people have approved.

Upright again, the critter blinked its four optics out of sync and its antennae drooped.

“As long as you have my back when it counts, you’re forgiven.” Sunstreaker sighed, then pointed at the scrap pile. “Go play.”

Sunstreaker glared at Bob as the Insecticon tried to roll itself in the dirt, only succeeding in getting its conical spikes on its carapace stuck.

Shaking his head, Sunstreaker approached to help the pathetic thing turn back over. “How have you made it this far in life?”

I was watching Cyberverse last night (for the first time) and Prowl was heroically launching in car mode to take a shot meant for Optimus. He transformed and I was all: "idiot!! You were a better shield as a car! The bullet is gonna get past your snatched waist"

Then he died.

Honestly, the best way to make an artist’s day is by being very specific about what you like about a piece. Geek out a lil. Gush over how they use line, color, texture. Every mark is layed down by the artist, so if you can connect with those little moments, it helps the artist feel seen.

So I'll post Stormsinger, Chapter 8: The Power of a Titan (where Sunstreaker is being absolutely terrifying and terrible to Prowl, and Prowl connects the dots on a horrible realization about his past), ideally on Saturday, but my weekend is projected to be busy.

one of the common threads you will frequently find among devoted adult readers & writers is that as kids the librarian let them get away with reading whatever the fuck they wanted. so much of the scifi and fantasy I fell in love with as a kid was very much Not For Kids, but it made my brain light up

Prowl is in for a ride - in every possible way imaginable.

The level of my emotional attachment to the thought of getting to the puffin colony that happened in just five minutes after learning they were there is the emotional high and low of traveling in the fall.

Devastated to learn I will miss being able to get to the puffin colony on Skellig Island in Ireland by two weeks -- after only knowing there were puffins there for 5 minutes.
