I listen to Sabaton a lot more now than either of those two. But without those two growing up, it's unlikely I listen to Sabaton haha. My Sabaton plays are greatly inflated by the symphonic versions of the last two WWI albums. They're great background music when I don't want vocals!

I was trying to avoid that haha! I'm going with Maiden. Both were among my core bands as a teen when I got into metal but I think Iron Maiden's incorporation of history and progginess wins me over. In English lit in high school, I convinced my teacher to play a handful of their track for the class!

I like Sabaton but they aren't at the same level as the first two. Sabaton's a little copy-paste and hasn't innovated or pushed rock and metal anywhere like the other two did. Sabaton's biggest draw is incorporating history into music...something Maiden started doing nearly 50 years ago!

I would expand on that and say white dudes with indoctrination from their parents. I'm a white dude but I didn't grow up with guns in the house. My dad didn't take me hunting or shooting. I don't own guns now and still intend to never fire one. Daddy may have turned him in, but he's at fault too.
