NEW: Lt. Governor @austindavispa.bsky.social is urging lawmakers to include $1.9 billion in federal Victims of Crime Act (VOCA) funding in this year’s budget. VOCA supports nearly 150K Pennsylvanians each year.

Without a state budget and the increasing federal funding cuts, our victims service organizations are running dangerously low on funds.

The shooting of Charlie Kirk in Utah is horrifying & targeting anyone for their speech or their beliefs is unacceptable. Gun violence is uniquely an American problem and it is one we can & must do something about.

Since taking office, this administration has made a commitment to reducing gun violence in our communities- and we've made significant progress. 
 
I sat down with the Office of Gun Violence Prevention to discuss future strategies to keep gun violence rates down and our communities safe.

Saturday was a great night of solidarity & inspiration at the Beaver-Lawrence Central Labor Council Human Rights Banquet. Beaver Co. Dems were in attendance to hear @austindavispa.bsky.social @robmatzie.bsky.social Dr. Roylin Petties of the NAACP & Presdient of the PA Building Trades, Rob Bair.

As a former state representative and two-term statewide elected official, he has a commitment to grassroots organizing, strategic growth, and inclusive values that make him the right leader to guide our party forward.

I can't wait to get to work with him as our new Chair.

No matter what union you belong to, all workers stand together - because an attack on one is an attack on all.

But now the Trump administration is taking us backward, to the Gilded Age that Trump so admires, when workers had little power and no protections.

This Labor Day, I’m proud to stand with the workers and unions that helped make America truly great.

As the son of a union bus driver I was proud to walk with the laborers and countless other unions in the Pittsburgh Labor Day Parade. These men and women built this city, our Commonwealth, and our country and I’m proud as hell to be with them today.

NEW: The Shapiro-Davis administration just made Pennsylvania the first state in the country to offer an online pardon application. This streamlined process gives more people the opportunity to seek a second chance.

Whether it’s economic development or providing public services, our county commissioners often have some of the largest impacts on day-to-day life.

I was proud to speak at this year’s County Commissioners conference and thank them for the good work they’re doing in our 67 counties.

Without mass transit funding, our entire state economy will feel the impact of working, shipping, and transportation delays, effecting commutes and jamming up traffic for hours.

This is avoidable if Senate Republicans return to Harrisburg and do the job they were elected to do: pass a state budget.

It is time for Senate Republicans to break their vacation and come back to Harrisburg to finish the job and vote in a budget that funds our mass transit systems.

Let’s get this done for Pennsylvania, now.
