13.10.2025 13:50 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I'm beginning to suspect that a key skill in working effectively with coding agents is developing an intuition for when you don't need to closely review every line of code they produce. This feels deeply uncomfortable!

Two smartphones displaying alternative thematic world maps. The left screen shows a split-continent map with countries grouped and resized by region (e.g., Europe, Africa, Asia) using color to indicate data levels (legend: Hoch, Mittel, Tief, Sehr tief). Smaller countries like Rwanda and Panama are clearly labeled and more visible due to the rearranged layout. The right screen displays a bubble map, where countries are represented by circles scaled to population size and shaded by data intensity. Larger countries like China and the U.S. have prominent bubbles, while smaller countries remain visible. Labels indicate population figures for Switzerland and China.
Better world maps for mobile!
Despite years of mobile-first design, thereβs been little experimentation in this area. So we designed our own at NZZ β and validated it in a large user study.

We just launched Foursquare Spatial Desktop β a geospatial analysis tool powered by embedded DuckDB and built on sqlrooms.org. Everything runs locally: your data stays on your machine, no cloud needed. A modern reimagining of Kepler.gl. Mac only for now. More coming.

22.07.2025 20:43 β π 2 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0There are always a flood of posts about what AI can or cannot do, so it is worth pausing and paying attention to this OpenAI tweet. This is a very hard test, done without tools.

26.05.2025 14:19 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I went down this rabbit hole over the weekend and tried Instapaper, Raindrop, and looked into self-hosting something. Raindrop.io comes out on top for my needs. It works like Pocket but it's much cleaner for bookmark management and it's an easy migration. Lots of integrations and an API too.
