In no way do I think this challenge made me a master artist. But I do think it removed the "fear" I had with a blank page. That I will waste my time if what I produce isn't to the highest standard. The process is the point of it all. And the art is just extra.

Day 100/100

And here it is, the grand finale. I bought a Copic and put it to use. Felt pretty surreal to stick to this (wasn't always easy) but the reward now lives on paper, in a book, that I can always look at.

Day 94/100:

I always used to fear colour as I could potentially "ruin" the drawing. Nearing the end of the challenge I no longer had this fear. The creativity comes and goes, so if something strikes you in the moment, you should act on it.

Day 89/100:

Probably tired from all the shading, this was a pretty simple line art of Hellboy. Still think the posing is cool.

Day 87/100:

Now this...this is my favourite thing I have ever done. I was in a flow state from the shading piece earlier, and I applied that here. I love the depth it has while retaining a cool comic style. This made the whole challenge worth it.

Day 86/100:

Another X-Men but a much less popular one. The design was super cool, and I wanted to tackle this one as I knew it would be fun to "ink" on iPad.

Day 81/100:

This looks impressive but it's from a Youtube tutorial on the channel "Draw Sessions" (highly recommend). It was very concise and I feel like I learned a lot of technique through it. But I need to go back and refresh because no way could I replicate.

Day 79/100:

Not much to say about this except I love Kingdom of Heaven. If you haven't seen it, go watch it. Particularly the Director's Cut with an intermission.

Day 76-77/100:

X-Men '97 was popping off at this time so I got into a big comic mood. I spent a lot of time recreating the hard shadows exactly which probably wasn't needed. I also went back and "inked" this one digital later (second photo).

Day 70/100:

This gun gave me quite the headache. I still struggle with perspective and foreshortening (also anything mechanical that has straight lines). But perseverance paid off.

Day 59-60/100:

I used the charcoal again, this time for hair alongside regular pencil for the rest. I feel like this was perfect culmination of everything I had used/learned up until this point. (She only looks like Billie Eilish on accident)

Day 51/100

After seeing Dune Part 2 for the second time, I put on the Zimmer's score and I got out the charcoal. This was my first time using it exclusively and The Bene Gesserit have an aura that works well with it. This is top 5 fave piece for me.

I start allowing myself multiple days on a piece if I want to continue on it. This was my first time attempting shading and blending and I noticed a big different from it.

Day 42/100:

From here on out it's just my favourite pieces. As I start to draw some stuff I am really proud of. You can see how just 1.5 months daily can really progress your skill. Also I am drawing without a time limit and really sinking into the process.

Bit of a time jump. But here is where I start feeling comfortable in drawing again. Enough days have passed that the idea of it "being bad" doesn't weigh as heavily so I can just appreciate having fun. This was my friend @joshrmak.bsky.social giving us the task to draw a Samurai.

I was on vacation in Jamaica so I decided to just use my iPad. I like digital art but for this challenge I really wanted to fill out a sketchbook. I also found a great Youtuber named chommang who had a style I really vibed with.
