That's something I think it does a great job of without saying too much. Your loadout, from what armor you have equipped for mitigations, your temperance, your runes equipped to your weapon, weapon disciplines, and skill tree are just as important as knowing the fights themselves.

I'm surprised by how much I enjoyed WUCHANG: Fallen Feathers. It had a rocky start, but once the emphasis on creativity in your builds and the highly detailed semi-linear areas clicked, it became an awesome experience. Also, so many of its fights are cinematic as heck!

100% agree. Feeling the time crunch to beat this game by embargo really made the difficulty and exploration aspect feel more frustrating. Hoping that now that embargo's up, going back to clean up stuff will be more enjoyable.

Shadow Labyrinth Review: Has Potential But Doesn't Reach It Shadow Labyrinth could become a great modern-day Metroidvania. But unclear hitboxes, inconsistent mechanics and difficulty bog it down.

Shadow Labyrinth is a great idea on paper, and pretty fun in execution. But oh my god can it be aggravating. It needs a couple more patches to be a great metroidvania to fix bad hitboxes, and unbalanced encounters.

Yet I do like its emphasis on exploration as so much is off the golden path.
