I’m a retired person who discovered the zen of traveling across the Mojave Desert on an empty highway. Created this account to share my love of finding solitude in overlooked places.

What's at the Living Desert Zoo in Palm Springs? A nice 5 mile loop hiking trail! The trailhead is just north of the big horn sheep enclosure. Available for hiking during the cold months, gate through fence locked during the hot summer months.

09.03.2025 21:44 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0Trip out to Red Rock Canyon State Park. The place resembles a part of Utah, rather than California. Has a great visitior center with historic displays and souvenirs. Beautiful nature trail near entrance winds through 1000-3000 foot high cliffs, great for a day hike!😊
