Apparently there's a member of the USA Ice Hockey Team named Jack Hughes. Seems like a good player, but I hope Emile Zola never feels the need to publicly call him out, because that will make for a confusing headline.

Saw it twice, and it was even better the second time. 2025 was a strong year for movies, but I'm bummed that Wake Up wasn't isn't up for some Oscars.

God dammit, one of my favorite movies. I was just quoting it yesterday. It speaks so beautifully of life and death, I watch it every time someone close to me dies. So I know what I'll be doing tonight.

I have often paid money to see shows just like that, and I've never regretted it. Can't fathom a mind so narrow that you'd deprive yourself of such a beautiful experience.

Ask Google a simple question, it gives a simple answer. Except now that answer gets pushed down the page so AI can (a) turn it into an unnecessary essay, and (b) get the answer wrong.

Good thing we're draining all our rivers for this.

The reason it took so long to find is because they painted it blue. Genius move. Would have been over in 20 minutes if they hadn't thought of that.

I finally watched this movie. I don't want to spoil anything, but it turns out the longest yard is 36 inches. They spent 2 solid hours measuring everything in the state of Georgia. I thought for sure they would eventually find a longer yard. But nope. 36 inches every time.

Is that Anson Williams? I just met him a couple weeks ago! He's a super awesome dude, and he directed my all time favorite episode of Star Trek: Voyager. If you've got a petition going, I'll sign it.

That's pretty cool. But how about you do 2 with Rifftrax, and 2 with The Film Crew? Any chance?

Dana, I don't know what you'll think of this, but every time I hear a right-winger's knee-jerk defense of ICE violence, it reminds me of your Black Dahlia bit. I'm always tempted to post it, but it's SO dark. And SO accurate.

...and if there are millions of pages of evidence of this offender's crimes, tell us where to find them. Pass a law requiring them to be released. If they're not released, start contempt & impeachment proceedings. Help us out! It's just common sense!

We watched the doc last night. It was both funny and sweet. I don't think I've ever done anything that cool for my 17-year-old kid, and now I'm seriously trying to figure out how I can make it up to him.

I'm so glad I'm not the only one here that knows this. 😀

That's the one! It's a great track, and the album only gets better from there. Wait 'til you hear their cover of On Her Majesty's Secret Service, it'll knock you out!

Toy Matinee

It might help that I first saw it in the theater, after living abroad for a couple years, and had no idea that The Spice Girls were a real band. I thought it was girl-group Spinal Tap. Turns out it's girl-group Hard Days Night. But it works either way.

I've seen the movie Spice World a couple dozen times, and I love it. It's hilarious, has an incredible cast of co-stars & cameos, the Girls themselves are in their element, and even the music works perfectly. Too bad it's out of print, but fortunately I have a well-used DVD.

The Ghost of Christmas Past showed him a horrifying vision of his life 30 minutes prior, before the swaddling clothes. (Then gave him a gold brick.)

Ghost of Christmas Present showed him what the sheep in the next stall was up to. (Plus, frankincense.)
