i've had glasses for seeing far for decades now, usually i take them off to see close, but its been getting too bad now for that. yay old age T_T

so, now ya know, award-winning artist and sculptor retired because can't see her own work anymore and insurance wouldn't do reading glasses til now.

finally got reading glasses! no more being within two inches of things to read them, no more guessing games with packages trying to read ingredients and instructions! i haven't even done much drawing or sculpting for a few years because i can't see well up close anymore

hulk hogan has passed, and kid me that watched the cartoon and had the weird rubber action figures and stuff wants to mourn that version of him, but it was gone long ago and may have only existed in marketing gimmicks anyway. current day hulk hogan was... ehhh x_X but i am still sad for his family.

Really enjoyed #Picklesburgh in #Pittsburgh yesterday. Spent over 10 hours downtown capturing scenes from the Clemente Bridge to downtown, and the layout made a huge difference. The food and drink were delicious, the music and activities were fun, and it seemed like everyone had a great time.

tired from housecleaning, and thinking about starting to post some of my least favorite comics and star wars collectibles up on ebay. when you open a box, look inside, and the feeling is not fond nostalgia but "why the hell do i even own this?" maybe it's time for a thing to go to a new home.

woke up, found out it's gonna be between 90-100 degrees of too hot outside today, and already want to go back to sleep in the nice safe indoors with the air conditioner without even going out in it. x_X

working on a sculpture idea, had to bake the body before working on the head so that the body and final detail doesn't get squished while working on the head. the hand drooped in the oven and looks a little.. ehhhh now, but too late to fix unless i resculpt the arm, and i am lazy, so no.

looking through some stuff, and found a thing that makes me happy and sad at the same time. Michael Turner was too much talent taken too soon.

wanted to be at a comic con today and then wander the arts festival while in town, but the health decided otherwise for me. not happy, but not like i can do anything about it.

tomorrow's the last day for both, but no bus on sundays, so even if i feel better by then can't go. x_X

the world's worst Gambit cosplay featuring my mom's late 1980's long coat from her Highlander-obsession days that I wore through most of the mid-90s around high school and later college. not seen out of frame are fingerless black bike gloves from the early 90s and the big silver aluminum cane i need to walk around with to not fall down. Yes it was for a costume contest, no i did not enter after all, just thought it'd be funny to do but changed my mind last minute.

what WAS gonna be a "lol let me throw some old crap for funny pictures as a joke" turned into a sad mess because a couple meds i've been on had a side effect of making me gain weight this past year. My coat still fits at least, but the coat is the coat, it always fits. the rest... not so much. T_T

its not the years its the mileage i guess, some part of my brain keeps forgetting til i see pictures of myself that the weird idiot that was in dance and gymnastics and used to beat people up with sticks and climb trees is long gone now.

Also also- trying to keep a cat from eating my clay is not a thing i realized i would have to do, the old lady didn't care but this other little varmint just wants to bite or lay on everything.
