copies of the book Edges of care in a cardboard box
At 6pm on New Year's Eve, a box arrived from @uchicagopress.bsky.social with physical copies of my new book.
A decade of research, fieldwork and writing come down to this moment, and what a moving moment it is. I won't lie, there were a couple of tears...
The book will be released Jan 16.
Very excited for this workshop in collaboration with @nfgaeckle.bsky.social, @dagmarvorlicek.bsky.social and @hannahrichter.bsky.social. Feel free to share with PhDs and early careers.

And then, almost overnight, they were free.
A couple of thoughts ππΌ /1
Professor Christina Clark-Kazak poses on the left, with Dr. Yuriko Cowper-Smith on the right (holding her baby), at the launch of the edited volume, "Forced Migration in/to Canada". The newly published book is on the counter in the foreground.
Celebrating the launch of @clarkkazak.bsky.social's brilliant new volume, "Forced Migration in/to Canada" with one of the over 60 attendees (also a contributing author), hosted by York University's Centre for Refugee Studies. Affordably priced in PB and in O/A from @mcgillqueensup.bsky.social.
