I just turned in the manuscript of my long narrative poem, FAREWELL TOUR. I will keep you posted as regards publication dates. I'm excited about it.
09.10.2025 22:19 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0It's hard, isn't it? Your solution is a start.
09.02.2025 00:59 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Hi Troy. How'd you find out your books were stolen by OpenAI? I'm curious as to whether mine were, although given their sales popularity, OpenAI probably avoided them as rigorously as buyers do. Is there a place I'd go to find out?
30.01.2025 17:15 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I don't think you'll see them take offense often. The principal thing that rankles them is not political, but a lingering tendency to regard speculative fiction as subliterary. That's not in your argument at all, as far as I can tell (although I've yet to read the book...).
29.01.2025 23:01 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0These rumors are greatly exaggerated:
28.01.2025 00:25 β π 4 π 0 π¬ 2 π 0But he waved goodbye, saying
"Don't you cry, I'll be back again someday."
I did this with 2 novels I wrote for ROC back in the 90s--ARCADY and ALLAMANDA. My solution was that a minor character in the first book became central in the 2nd. It worked out well in my situation. Good luck with whatever tactic you decide on!
17.01.2025 14:57 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0My most recent novels are contained in the City Quartet: Start with any of the books and discover a magical realist world in which the city itself resonates from story to story, almost as a character in a series of interconnected tales:

09.01.2025 12:11 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0ABSOLUTELY, Junior. It's baffling to me when I go to speculative fiction gatherings and meet resistance when I tell new writers to "read outside your genre." And it's not just what you read or watch: have other interests, damn it! They provide fuel for your work!
25.12.2024 14:27 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0REALLY happy for ya, darling! You've got the talent to deserve it and the drive to use it!
20.12.2024 14:34 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0He's very, very nuanced. The short stories are well told, but so dense in implication. Marvelously subtle writer.
Or my opinion, at least.
That's why I chose to post this list, Junior. Wanna protect you from the bad lists. π
29.11.2024 15:55 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I've always thought Wolfe was a major writer, sadly underrated because he wrote speculative fiction. A superb series, this one.
29.11.2024 11:47 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0An interesting list, with suggestions for some dark viewing: www.indiewire.com/features/bes...
29.11.2024 11:45 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Agreed. Although Breaking Bad is very good, IMO.
28.11.2024 16:27 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I never heard that term, Junior. Only "strawman" for essentially what you're talking about. Is it a new term you kids use?
26.11.2024 14:37 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Glad to see you, Bobby. So far it seems good here.
21.11.2024 12:48 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0As usual, Borowitz nails it:

Good luck. I know about the waiting.
16.11.2024 21:44 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0This was such a good event in Lawrenceburg, Kentucky. I hadn't read outside Louisville for ages, and a nice travel, reading, and overnight stay was just the tonic. So often your audience is made up solely of other writers, and I enjoyed having smart and curious readers in attendance.
