I thought my proudest achievement was journalism-related but now I realise it’s managing to breastfeed my baby for months on end without tearing my hair out in despair. (Though, rest assured, I come close on an almost daily basis.)

More than 50 child asylum seekers still missing after disappearing from Kent care Council data obtained by the Guardian shows 345 children have gone missing in recent years, many probably taken by traffickers

These poor kids didn’t stand a bloody chance…

345 vulnerable kids, seeking asylum and then lost by our authorities

50 still missing

Likely to traffickers

How could this have happened?

Unforgivable from now-Reform controlled Kent County Council.

the ending of THE GODFATHER, the best american movie ever made, doesn't work without diane keaton's final look --- at the realization of who she's married and what her life is going to become and what corruption lurks behind closed doors. unforgettable, inimitable work. RIP.

Bereft by Diane Keaton’s passing. Dressed like her throughout university. Watched all her movies. She was my whole personality before it was even a thing. I simply can’t believe we’re to continue on without her.

Rule Britannia at the Proms is now about as uncomplicatedly uplifting a tune to wheel out as a finale as the theme from Jim’ll Fix It.

After building the business for decades, Gen Xers in Hollywood are being pushed aside by cable’s decline, peak TV’s end, and mergers wiping out management. @elainelow.bsky.social spoke to the 40- and 50-somethings who now have to pull a Ross Geller and pivot

Meanwhile, another French producer notes, "We’re financing the public broadcaster and now they’re selling off the content to Amazon. And no one has really communicated how the business model works and whether it’s a pure acquisition or a real exchange of things.”

In France, the France Televisions/Prime Video and TF1/Netflix deals are rankling producers, and understandably so. "If a producer can’t make a separate deal with Netflix to help co-finance a show because Netflix gets the show anyway through [TF1], then that’s one financial partner that disappears.”

I was curious about second-window deals for producers (if your ITV show is now also on Disney+, for example, do you get any extra Β£?). The answer is no, because of fairly standard sub-licensing terms. But could that -- and should that -- change in the future? French producers certainly think so.

Netflix & Amazon are Now French TV Channels β€” What?! Inside the shocking pacts, why Disney’s dancing with ITV, and what YouTube has to do with it: β€˜Tech companies don’t do anything to be nice’

A few thoughts about the NYT critics shakeup: Theater is one of the hardest of all disciplines to cover as a critic (or reporter). You need to know its language and history. And there's a ton you can and should do to educate yourself. But you can never "catch up." You can't see what you didn't see.>

UK bosses to be banned from using NDAs to cover up misconduct at work Exclusive: Changes to workers’ rights bill will prohibit the silencing of staff who suffer harassment or discrimination

More good worker's rights news - companies will be banned from using NDAs to cover up misconduct at work.

@commonswec.parliament.uk heard evidence during our misogyny in music inquiry that NDAs are being abused to silence victims of harassment. This change will make a real difference for workers.
