Two of my favorite ocs I've drawn over the years and it was alot of fun to put them together. Ayla being more of knight with her armor and swordsmanship + Garnet being the more magical based character with her staff in hand. The borders were just as amazing to create, with the designs complimenting their individual classes!

Selkie's are not technically mermaids, they require a pelt of a seal in order to transform fully into one. As they place the pelt on their body slowly morphs into the seal, so the upper half is wearing the pelt while her lower half has already transformed. I had a fun time with her designs, especially with the patterns along the tail and creating the seals in the border swimming through the kelp

Was recently listening to the song Broken Mast Bay by Sail North and when the Selkie appeared, it really made me want to try my hand at drawing one.
It also gave me the opportunity to work on creating more types of backgrounds and water textures.

Her design is influenced by Skadi, the norse goddess of winter. The runic markings on her form are for protection, strength, leadership, and guidance. The robes are to show her status as the leader with the golden crown with wings on the side and crescent moons. To add to the spiritual atmosphere, I added in the aurora borealis lighting up the night sky

For Valentines, decided to create a moment with three couples I create with my friend Dante-Astra. The rose boarder design with golden elements in a heartshape was very fun to draw. Also with giving them formal attires and their expressions + poses showing their individual relationships

Their armor is based on a normal Chinese armor of a normal shoulder, with a glaive in hand being their primary weapon. The sash cover their form shows their water affinity, the water dragon in the background is where their powers derive from. With the waves crashing around them to give the dragon and appearance for swimming through the water.
