Franzi Schimmer captured this Grizzly bear in Brooks Falls, Alaska just floating along, tippy-tapping down the river, browsing the salmon.

Prior to hibernation, up to 40% of a bear's body mass is fat, which is less dense than water (~0.9 g/cm^2), so the murder-monster is also a floaty-boaty.

I’m on Nikon as well but that doesn’t seem to be the problem with mine when I check. I was out for owls the other day and it suddenly wouldn’t focus. Then I wiggled tge lens and it clicked into place. It feels like it has a very slight bit of give. Thanks so much for sharing!

A tall bird with bluish-grey feathers is landing on the flat top of a big wooden post, its feet outstretched and its wings stretched upward to slow down.

I am quite fond of this young heron at the East 90. The big old crook-necked heron chases it, but it refuses to leave. The little heron wanders to hunt, much like my unfortunate photography habits. Here the bird landed on the giant post and just sat there quietly talking. 🪶 @everyheron.bsky.social
