There are some wood notes, sandalwood especially, that are known for going "pickley" due to certain chemical compounds. I hadn't encountered it with cedar before which is what I was using but something about mixing a cedar compound with fig leaf really brought it out- to my nose at least!

lol I poured a candle this fall that was suppose to smell like like a fall morning deep in the woods and instead it came out smelling like a pickle. Another dud! I loathed it but I had friends who loved it and my husband actually thought the scent was nice

Scent creation is a subjective art form as different people like and react differently to scents. I may still end up hiding Luna in hopes the right nose finds her. But man, hard to feel good about putting something out I personally wouldn't be excited to find. #monkeyshines2026

Luna is a blend of cherry, black sand, sage, labdanum, and moss. I was going for a scent that was for dark, mysterious, complex and sensual and instead I got cough syrup. Just straight robitussin. #monkeyshines2026

Real talk- sometimes when I'm blending scents for the first time it's not always obviously how things will turn out once it's cured in the wax.. and on occasion I get a read dud. I regret to inform you that the princes Luna candle is a total dud #monkeyshines2026

When do you get into town?!? Most of my stuff won't start going out until next weekend 🙂

Sometimes I go out on jaunts solely to drop shines but more often than not I drop where I happen to be- and on that note I'm grabbing bagels this morning so S tacoma be on the look out #monkeyshines2026

Its vulpix community day (pokemon go) which means ill be at wright park today at some point between 2-5! It's also finally February and I promised I wouldn't drop any candles until February at least! #monkeyshines2026

Pinkie Pie is my personal favorite pony and I love the way this candle turned out! Watermelon, wild rose and a little pink sugar it lives up to its name sake. First candles going out imminently- tomorrow? Tonight? #monkeyshines2026

Fluttershy! Lemon crumble, linen, soft iris and baby powder. Sweet and soft like its name sake. While the candle turned out great I went for a different brand of thermal label and whooo boy never again. Most look a lil wonky- all smell fab !

I think I'd be more inclined to ignore her if I wasn't so intrigued by what a Princess Luna/nightmare moon candle might smell like 🤔

I have my 6 ponies (candle scents) done and curing and I assumed I was done. Then the mini asked what about the princess ponies Celestia and Luna? 🙄 I have today off and enough supplies to do another small pour.... #monkeyshines2026

Ditched X completely- I post pretty general stuff in Jeeps FB group and i like seeing what people are making/finding but any actual clues will be bluesky only. FB feels like it has too many eyes and maybe not all of them there for community and good vibes

It's kind of bananas over there! I like seeing what everyone is up to and finding but the clue chasing gets cut throat in a not fun way

Today was pour day meaning candles will be ready to go out in about 2 weeks or so after they cure. I've got 6 (!!!) different varieties this year- 8 of each type ready to hide. #monkeyshines2026
