The evolution and travels of the apple seed, the tale of the sisters…so far I’m really loving this. Beautiful and haunting.

The birthright citizenship order goes into effect in 30 days and prohibits federal agencies from issuing citizenship documents (such as passports) to the—to be clear—citizens in question.
But that's simply not how any of this works. Read @timothypmurphy.bsky.social:
On a blue background and in white lettters, text reading: Declare a feminism that is robust, aggressive, and unapologetic. It is the only way to combat a patriarchy that is systemic. Patriarchy must know that feminism is rage unleashed against its centuries of crimes against women and girls around the world, crimes that are justified by “culture” and “tradition” and “it’s just the way things are,” all of which are euphemisms for “this world is run by men for the benefit of men.”

I read the book when it first came out in ‘97 and wow wow wow was my verdict.
Such an important work, especially at a time when these stories were not being given much airtime.

"It was November - the month of crimson sunsets, parting birds, deep, sad hymns of the sea, passionate wind-songs in the pines. Anne roamed through the pineland alleys in the park and let that great sweeping wind blow the fogs out of her soul.”

Not holding my breath but maybe, just maybe, Susan Collins will vote against the confirmation of Matt Gaetz as attorney general.
I’m going to drop her a wee note and cross my fingers, eyes and toes that she’ll do the right thing.
