Yes, we get a lot of “is this a meteorite?” inquiries at the survey.

Most often, the rocks are obviously not meteorites.

However today someone strolled in with this material. This is by far the densest material that I have ever held. It puts a typical VMS Ni-Cu ore to shame.

This should be unbelievable. But it doesn’t seem like much is these days.

I’ve been keeping an eye on the fire near the Ruttan Mine since we were supposed to be heading there next week. It’s grown considerably over the past week. This whole area has been detectable within the last 24hrs.

The fire situation in northwest Manitoba is nuts. Hard to comprehend the scale of these blazes. Every red dot is an active fire within the last 1-3 hrs.

Only going to get worse with a balmy 28C and gusts up to 40 km/h tomorrow with more lightning to follow.

Yea this was my wife’s first interaction with our kids school for next fall. A man right outside the door handing out nonsense and targeting kindergarten aged kids and their parents. This behaviour can never be tolerated.
