The problem is I think my medical issues make me inherently burdensome for others, so being useful to them isnβt just something I do to have self-worth, but to justify my evidence.
I also think my work friend group is good and healthy for me because they respond with disappointment when they catch me unintentionally admitting that I define my self-worth by my utility to others.
That works a lot better as a motivator than pity.
Just that realization that a person you love, whoβs been a part of your life for your whole life, like a piece of your reality, one day theyβre just, gone.
