BBC Sounds - Radio 2's Piano Room - Available Episodes

To be honest , the music is not really my thing. However, this really moved me. Labi Siffre speaks so eloquently about the creative process, life, loss and understanding your hurting soul. Having something to say and finding a way to express it. Amazing

I've not been to find any confirmation online, but this walkway looks like it's an original approach to one of the platforms at Victoria Station #Sheffield

I despair of this city at times. Doesn't bode well for the park, some people just want to destroy 😔
The entire signs along the Exchange Street side have been defaced or completely painted over #Sheffield

Sheaf running into the Don today. Interesting how the River Don has a peaty darker colour. Probably, more so following all the rain. On the left is the Two Rivers cafe, still mothballed awaiting the optimum time to open.

2/2 There are photographs online taken urban explorers showing the arch and some machinery still in situ.
The bridge survived the Sheffield flood, described as shaking violently as debris crashed into its arches. Water flowed over it and bodies were deposited on adjacent streets.

1/2 Ladies Bridge has 5 arches, the last one on the Wicker side housed the Wicker Tilt. Over time the river was narrowed by further building and the last span hidden from view. It can still be seen from the Castlegate side on a sunny day like today #Sheffield

Spending 14 of those years between Sheffield Castle and nearby Manor Lodge. The household she maintained and the cost of guarding her was a huge strain on the finances of George Talbot, 6th Earl of Shrewsbury.

Indeed. I have a Patrick Hayes, born, lived and died in Co. Clare. Someone added a US census return the record I'd made on Family Search. I use another site now, so people can't add random rubbish, just because they have found a Patrick Hayes born in Ireland.

Boo. You need to be super alert. It's a nightmare, first time I went to blood donors (near Cathedral). I knew exactly where it was, I just couldn't work out how to get there, with bus lanes, one way systems and roads blocked all together.

Just back from Gran Canaria , I went on a hike led by Tomas from Finland. He asked where I was from.. he asked if I knew Wideboyz (climbing celebs), asked if I was United or Weds. Knew the Blades nickname, then said and you have Chris Wilder back and also that Sheffield FC are the oldest. Humbling.

I think Polanski knows little about real life. He said the prisons are full of single impoverished mum, locked up for stealing nappies. I'd be surprised if there is a single one in the entire system. Then said as long as the cause is just it's ok to sledgehammer a police officer. Not for me.

I hated learning and used to pray the bloke wouldn't turn up. But, it's one of those life skills I wouldnt/couldn't be without.

Learning to drive around 1985 and my instructor used to direct me to Darnall. Where I would drive around empty streets, surrounded my levelled brick rubble. That's where this photo took me straight back to. I couldnt get a job and Dad paid in the hope that it would make me more employable. RIP Dad ❤️

All from different stages of my life and I listen to them all still. Absolute classics, Kate Bush the only artist I've not seen live and sadly unlikely to ever do so.
