Is the screen bright enough for taking pictures in the sun?
28.05.2025 16:20 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Thanks! Looked into the Z50 but it doesn't have USB-C and the Z50 II is out of my budget. Probably going to go with the Z30 and 3D print a sun hood.

Is the lack of a viewfinder bad? It looks like the perfect camera for me, but most people seem critical of the lack of an EVF which is somewhat dissuading.

Just came across this while searching Bluesky for the Nikon Z30. If you dang mind me asking, have you had any problems with the Z30? I'm considering buying it with a kit lens.
Are they spiced? Or just tomato?
22.05.2025 02:30 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I assume that means they're tomato flavored?
22.05.2025 01:55 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Ketchup chips?
22.05.2025 01:42 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0For example, if you had a home server running an LLM, it could go down in the middle of the night so all computing resources could be dedicated towards training.
19.05.2025 02:07 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I totally agree with you, sleep is such as interesting concept. I feel like there's no point to having downtime though, considering that it's not like the model becomes impossible to use just because a machine somewhere is training it, unless you mean the server running the LLM going down.

13.05.2025 17:32 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I would go through the interactive Svelte tutorial if you haven't used it before. It's pretty good, and Svelte 5 changed a lot with reactivity. If you're reading old guides or tutorials, make sure to migrate the code to Svelte 5 (Svelte's VS Code extension has a command to auto-migrate).
13.05.2025 02:47 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I feel like that's where something like Svelte works well though since as far as I know, it compiles directly to vanilla JS without a virtual DOM.
13.05.2025 00:35 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I agree; I read through it after seeing it on HN, but I do wonder, if you're adding routing, components, and similar functionality manually, aren't you still using a framework in a sense?
12.05.2025 13:34 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0How can you get paid for consuming electricity though?
11.05.2025 13:29 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0How does the cost become negative? Does that mean you need to be feeding energy into the grid, with solar, for example?
11.05.2025 02:12 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Congrats!
11.05.2025 02:11 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0What would that look like though? What parallels do AI models have to carbon-based life that the concept of sleep could be applied to them? Definitely sounds interesting though.
10.05.2025 14:54 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Deep learning?
10.05.2025 14:48 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I completely agree, I have great memories playing The Cycle with some of my friends. Proximity chat was also amazing.
10.05.2025 14:44 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Interesting! One suggestion I have is maybe to set up duplicate issue identification to prevent the same bug from being reported multiple times.
10.05.2025 12:37 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Better yet, make this the standard for bakeries to wrap their bread in. Bonus points if itβs a different type of bread than what itβs wrapping.
10.05.2025 04:00 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Whatβs the human equivalent of software updates and a reboot? Sleep?
10.05.2025 03:57 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I still remember when in elementary school, one of teachers (might have been in-training) marked one of my answers wrong with a checkmark. This was in the US, so I was rather confused, as I had never encountered this.
10.05.2025 03:52 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0How do you use LLMs to detect regressions? Wouldnβt that require the LLM to analyze most of the codebase?
10.05.2025 03:48 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0A screenshot of a GitHub issue page with the following comments/activity: danielroe comments on March 24 'this is no longer reproducible with the linked reproduction. π'. danielroe closed this as completed on March 24. <obscured username> comments 12 hours ago 'This is still happening with nuxt 3.14.1592'. nuxtbot reopened this 12 hours ago. nuxtbot added 'pending triage', 'possible regression' labels.
I've been working on a bot that helps make sure people's comments aren't 'lost in the noise' ...
rolled out a new feature yesterday, and it seems to work! π
i'm organizing a hackathon for teens, by teens called Compass, where we'll travel from Lisbon to France by train with devices that we developed that can help us on our journey. we want to focus on the moment, so we're going to turn off our phones to explore and breath.

Taking the AP Human Geography exam tomorrow. Got a 5 on the practice test I took.
06.05.2025 00:13 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0It seems like a really polished device, but $200 (if I remember correctly) seems a bit much considering you could probably just connect a controller to your phone and get a similar experience.
