A common refrain of mine: "performative" is a useful term that means nearly the opposite of how its used on social media. Hanson here does a really excellent run down of both what that looks like and why that matters. Some very choice quotes in there too for anybody who loves freedom.

Our site is completely free to readersβ€”we have no paywall! We also remain committed to our long-held tradition of publishing a print quarterly. We believe print is a site of resistance; a place where urgent conversations need not be rushed and minds can engage deeply with one another on the page.
