I'm sure there are people who question him and think it's BS, but it seems like the majority of people just go with it. They could just be very simple minded people. As for cages, I assume they never needed one. We use cages to put animals in. Can't think of anything else we would put in a cage. Prison is different. That's a room with bars, although could be called a cage but people don't call it that.
