😎 This weekend, ESA marks 18 years of Europe’s Columbus laboratory in orbit, and we’ve got a couple of these epic β€˜How Columbus Learnt to Fly’ books to give away! Just share this post for a chance to win!πŸ‘

Elon has apparently finally abandoned his 20 year long assertion that he was just about to build a city on Mars any day now :-)

He just says that because nobody wants to finance his mars plans, while Artemis at least has some funding. His money is running out πŸ‘€

A reminder to the news media: β€œconflicting accounts” is what you say BEFORE the incontrovertible video evidence appears. After that, your job is to ask why one side is lying, not to repeat the lie and pretend no one knows the truth.

Fireworks from space Fireworks from space

Can you see fireworks from space? πŸŽ†

You can if you get lucky, but nature always puts on the best show.

We're celebrating the New Year with this stunning sight from the International Space Station: a giant blue jet and red sprites shooting upwards from a thunderstorm.

How long until you find planet IX? (Or disprove its existence?)

The real thing keeping ESA down are their conservative views (Ariane 6 development), their over dependency on other countries that tend to fall into fascism and disorder (Russia back then and now the US), and the lack of urgency of the member states

It slows stuff down but it also leads to more financial support from all of the members and leads to a more uniform distribution of technological skills across Europe, it works similar in the US

Their goal was straightforward: to establish whether 3I/ATLAS could be seen in radio waves. And their findings now confirm: it behaves like a comet, and not a technological artefact broadcasting radio signals.

The fallacy of being first β€” let’s be enduringΒ instead Recent reports suggest that NASA is looking to accelerate its lunar landing timeline β€” partly to ensure that America returns to the moon before China does. The echoes of the 1960s Space Race are unmistakable. Once again, the focus seems to be on being first β€” planting a flag, capturing headlines and proving technological superiority. But this approach carries the same risks as before.

If that thing launches, I'll personally develop a MASER strong enough to melt this thing in orbit... Drone advertising is already too much. It needs to stop.

We have been doing a *ton* of work this weekend on the documentary and I cannot wait for you all to hear the incredible score Beverly has been working on for the past year!

We are incredible close to release here, with 10 scenes now released to render and most of the remaining ones fully tracked!

There is no gap. Even if Vast, Axiom etc. don't make it to space. The Chinese will still have their space station in orbit...

A dark sky shows bright comet with its tails extending diagonally from the lower left. Two tails are visible for the comet -- a long blue tail and a shorter wider white tail. Oddly, a wiggly tan stream appears to be a third tail -- but is actually the dust from a dissipated meteor. Please see the explanation for more detailed information.
