Went down a Bandcamp rabbit hole this weekend (as one does) and discovered some dope bands.

How come nobody told me about Doomsday Profit and And I Become Death? I'm not mad, #metalsky, just disappointed.

I did the same over the summer (only my layoff was several years) and was surprised at how quickly it came back. Sucks about the injury, though; good luck working around it.

It appears to be a band called Fin, from Chicago. I've never heard them or heard of them. According to Metallum they just reunited after a several year break.

Irrespective of the song, I've found myself off them since I saw them live in late 2021 and Grandpa Dave started ranting between songs about masks and liberty and tyranny and blah blah blah. Just left a bad taste in my mouth.

Yeah PayPal is definitely the most slippery of them all. I actually rarely use it but offer it as an option; thankfully, it seems to be falling off with younger folks, at least in my limited xp. Apple Pay is another popular one but I don't have personal xp with that because I don't have an iPhone.

And fwiw I have never had a major problem with any of them, besides Venmo being irritatingly choosy about which of my multiple accounts at one bank it will connect to.

I provide a niche service remotely for which I accept PP plus Zelle, Venmo, and Cash. Venmo tends to be the one I get most frequently from my clients, followed by Zelle, then Cash. I don't know what the political implications of any of them are, but in finance I assume there are no good options.

Fuck, shingles was the worst. I had it probably 10+ years ago, I got on antibiotics within a day or so and I still have a scar on my side from it.

Do not recommend kidney stones either. My dad got them in his late 40s and it might have been the only time I ever saw him cry.
