I'm in NHS England myself and still have 2 if not 3 years to go with the Doctorate. But I'm self funded and get no from help NHSE. Redundancy might help speed up completion.

And there has been absolutely no talk of the former Health Education England (Deanerys) functions that were just merged with NHSE, nor the NHS Digital function who were also just merged.

Are there too many NHS managers? In times of hardship, the value of NHS managers is often scrutinised - what do they do and are they worth it?

As NHS England is being abolished, it's time for a fact reminder. NHS managers comprise circa 3% of the NHS workforce compared to 9.5% of the UK workforce in 2023. It spends 2p in the pound on healthcare administration, compared to 5p in Germany and 6p in France. www.nhsconfed.org/articles/are...

Unison attacks β€˜shambolic’ announcement of NHS England’s abolition – UK politics live Union says staff will have been left reeling after surprise news that body will be scrapped

The real change the NHS needs is the removal of all outsourcing from our hospitals, a real payrise for workers, the creation of a National Care Service to support us in later life and investment for the long-term future.

GP working 30 yrs in a mixed urban area, rich & poor

Rarely seen people abuse the benefits system
Seen lots of the health, social & wealth systems fail those in most need

The healthy & wealthy always making the decisions

Compare how the UK spends with similar nations @teamlabouruk.bsky.social

Absolutely. And there are now a lot of scared people. Between this and that last government, they have given staff in these organisations a really rough time!

For goodness sake or the sake of humanity please just say the world has changed we need to increase Taxes

The UK is already one of the worse countries for caring for the least well off & those that require support due to ill health

@teamlabouruk.bsky.social has lost its grip on reality

This massive inequality isn't inevitable. The need for foodbanks has skyrocketed in the the UK – as has the number of billionaires and their wealth.
These things are two sides of the same coin. Trussell do incredible, vital work, but this inequality shouldn't be how our country works.

I've taken my time changing because no one was here, to begin with, but now that has changed. My stigma and shame studies are still ticking along, but doing a PhD part-time on the job of a full-time job and with a young family is slow work.

A flowchart titled "Progression of the Tobacco and Vapes Bill through Parliament" illustrates the legislative process in the UK. It is divided into three main sections: House of Commons, House of Lords, and Consideration of Amendments, ending with Royal Assent.

House of Commons (green section):

Steps include: 1st reading, 2nd reading, Committee stage, Report stage, and 3rd reading.
Arrows connect these steps, showing progression through the legislative stages.
House of Lords (red section):

Steps mirror those in the House of Commons: 1st reading, 2nd reading, Committee stage, Report stage, and 3rd reading.
Arrows continue the flow from the House of Commons into the House of Lords.
Consideration of Amendments (green circle):

A step where any amendments made by the Lords are reviewed.
Royal Assent (gold section):

Depicted as the final step, symbolised with a celebratory design including sparkles.
The ASH (Action on Smoking and Health) logo is positioned in the bottom right corner.
