Destroying the tanks does take flexibility out of the system and reduce its ability to absorb and compensate to loss a production elsewhere.

I'm surprised Light duty truck emissions haven't started trending down.

I bet VW and a few others were imagining they could continue to sell ICE uninconvenienced here in large numbers, and in similar markets for another decade or two.

If something reduces overheads, then it becomes a no brainer. And the companies that don't make the switch will soon find themselves uncompetitive.

Well August 2023 had 3.8%, it wasn't an end of quarter push month.

To put it another way, exclude Tesla, and the BEV market expanded 40% for the other OEMs Jan-Aug2025 vs Jan-Aug 2023. Growing from 1 M to 1.4 M.

That is >25% of their BEV growth came from Tesla, at the BEV specialist's expense.

I think that was kinda the point

BEV sales have always been shite in Japan. A massive drop in sales would be negative sales.

Would be nice to get more synchronous condensers online, and be able to shut off some of that gas. With a steady generation curve live that, I expect there is probably some dispatch down for some wind generators.

Cheaper, and much more capable, and far greater choice of models.

Anyone voting for trump on the basis of Harris's position was either a zionest or a weapons grade idiot.

Jan-August sales being only 56% of what they were for the same period in 2023, and market share shrinking halving from 3.8% to 1.9% can't be described as catastrophic?

Selling 104k fewer units in a market that had grown by 250k

And to make matters worse, unlike the competiton, they only sell BEVs

03.10.2025 23:26 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 0    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

Ah yes reaching the giddy heights of March 2022. The trailing 3 months average was consistently around 100K in 2023, and suddenly sub 60k in 2025 is to be counted as successful? ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ

That in a market which is probably 150% of March 2022

Strangely they never really caught on

What's interesting is BEVs are eating P/HEVs as fast as the hold out ICE. All the arguments that PHEVs are needed to eliminate the last few percent are meaningless. ICE and hybrids will disappear at the same time
